  23. Es gibt zwei Methoden dieses Update zu installieren: die Installation von 
  24. Festplatte (erfordert die vorgegebene Verzeichnisstruktur) und die Installation 
  25. von Disketten.

  28. 2. Vorbereiten der Installation
  29. -------------------------------
  30. Die Treiber-Dateien dieses FIRE GL x000 Updates liegen in komprimierter 
  31. Form als selbst-entpackendes Paket vor: das Entpacken erfolgt durch 
  32. Aufrufen bzw. Ausfⁿhren dieser *.EXE Datei.
  33.  
  34. Beim Entpacken wird auf Ihrer Festplatte im Vorgabe-Verzeichnis C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ 
  35. bzw. dem von Ihnen angegebenen Verzeichnis eine Verzeichnisstruktur mit allen 
  36. fⁿr das gewaehlte Betriebssystem notwendigen Treibern angelegt. 
  37. Im Root dieses Verzeichnisses finden Sie neben dieser README Datei auch 
  38. - das Programm START.EXE fⁿr die Installation von Festplatte (siehe 3.) und 
  39. - das Programm MAKEDISK.EXE zur Erzeugung von Installationsdisketten (siehe 4.).

  41. Bevor Sie die neuen Treiber installieren k÷nnen, mⁿssen die alten Treiber 
  42. deinstalliert werden:

  44. - Starten Sie dazu das Programm "DIAMOND Display Components Setup" und wΣhlen 
  45.   Sie "Entfernen der installierten Treiber". Die Treiber und Komponenten werden 
  46.   entfernt, das System wird anschlie▀end automatisch auf Standard VGA zurⁿckgesetzt.

  48. - Fⁿhren Sie nun einen Neustart des Systems durch.

  50. 3. Installation von Festplatte
  51. ------------------------------
  52. - Wechseln Sie in das Verzeichnis, in welches Sie die Treiberupdates 
  53.   entpackt haben: 
  54.     C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ oder das von Ihnen angegebene Verzeichnis.

  56. - Rufen Sie dort das Programm START.EXE auf und folgen Sie der Benutzerfⁿhrung.

  58. - Beachten Sie bitte unbedingt auch die gesonderten README Dateien zu den 
  59.   betreffenden Treibern.

  61. 4. Erzeugung von Installationsdisketten
  62. ---------------------------------------
  63. Sollten Sie Installationsdisketten ben÷tigen, um die Software auf einem 
  64. anderen System zu installieren, so gehen Sie bitte wie folgt vor:

  66. - Wechseln Sie in das Verzeichnis, in welches Sie die Treiberupdates 
  67.   entpackt haben: 
  68.     C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ oder das von Ihnen angegebene Verzeichnis.

  70. - Rufen Sie dort das Programm MAKEDISK.EXE auf und folgen Sie zur Erstellung 
  71.   der Disketten der Benutzerfⁿhrung.
  72.  
  73. - Zur Installation von Diskette rufen Sie von der Diskette "Install" das 
  74.   Programm INSTALL.EXE auf.
  75.  
  76. - Beachten Sie bitte unbedingt auch die gesonderten README Dateien zu den 
  77.   betreffenden Treibern.

  79. - Hinweis: Beachten Sie, da▀ auch vor der Disketten-Installation auf dem 
  80.   betreffenden System die alten Treiber wie unter 2. beschrieben entfernt 
  81.   werden mⁿssen.

  101. 1. General Information
  102. ----------------------
  103. There are two ways to install this update: installation from harddisk
  104. (requires default directory structure) and installation using floppies.
  105.  
  106.  
  107. 2. Preparing the Installation
  108. -----------------------------
  109. All drivers and components of this FIRE GL x000 update are provided in a 
  110. compressed form as a self-extracting package.
  111. All files will be decompressed by starting or running this *.EXE package. 
  112.  
  113. When decompressing this package a directory structure with all installation 
  114. files will be created on your harddisk in the default directory 
  115. C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ or in the directory you entered during the decompressing 
  116. process. 
  117. In the root of this directory you find the following programs amongst others:
  118. - Program START.EXE for installation from harddisk (see 3.) and 
  119. - Program MAKEDISK.EXE to create installation disks (see 4.).
  120.  
  121. Before the new drives may be installed, the old drivers and components have to 
  122. be removed: 
  123.  
  124. - In your DIAMOND folder start the program "DIAMOND Display Components Setup" 
  125.   and select "Removing Installed Drivers". All drivers and components will 
  126.   now be removed, the system will be reconfigured to Standard VGA mode.

  128. - Now please restart your system.

  130. 3. Installation from Harddisk
  131. -----------------------------
  132. - Change to the directory where the driver update has been decompressed (see 2.)
  133.     C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ or the directory you entered.

  135. - Run START.EXE and follow the installation routine.

  137. - Please also note the separate README files for the installed drivers.

  139. 4. Creating Installation Disks
  140. ------------------------------
  141. If you need installation disks, to install this update onto another system, 
  142. please proceed as follows: 
  143.  
  144. - Change to the directory where the driver update has been decompressed (see 2.)
  145.     C:\DIAMOND\UPDATE\ or the directory you entered.
  146.  
  147. - Run MAKEDISK.EXE and follow the installation routine to create disks.
  148.  
  149. - To install from these disks run INSTALL.EXE from disk "Install".
